Burgundy Flowers

In a time of year as exciting for everyone as this one is, it feels almost crazy to write about the little things, but as non-sense as it sounds, stepping back and savouring the every day moments has been central to remaining focused. Keeping old traditions as well as creating new ones has made me so happy and motivated for the future. Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are enjoying every last bit of the incredible ride 2014 has been!

Numa época do ano tão entusiasmaste como esta, é quase loucura escrever sobre detalhes, mas por muito que soe inapropriado, parar e apreciar os pequenos momentos tem sido essencial para permanecer focada. Manter tradições antigas ao mesmo tempo que novas são criadas tem-me motivado imenso para  futuro. Wine Red

The closer I get to Christmas the more festive I start dressing! It becomes intuitive to gather the wine reds, the burgundys, the greens, the tartans and always find a way to wear them all together! I just can’t stop!

Quanto mais próximo fica o Natal mais festivos começam a ser os meus looks! É verdadeiramente intuitivo todas as manhãs recolher todas as roupas bordô, verde e xadrez e conjugá-las todas! Não consigo parar!

Le Cozy

One chalenge I’ve been facing this year is the low temperature in Paris! I’m probably more scared than I should be, I’ve seen such terrifying temperature values last year that I am scared I’ll freeze!  Still, regardless of weather I am or not making too much of it, I am not willing to take risks so I’ve been investing in some great winter coats and so far so good! Ain’t nobody feeling cold here!

I’m loving this particular one! It’s the warmest, most comfy, cozy and delightful thing I can put on in the morning!

Um dos meus mais recentes desafios tem sido a temperatura de Paris! Provavelmente estou mais assustada do que devia, mas vi valores de temperatura tão aterrificadores o ano passado que tenho medo de congelar!

Ainda assim, independentemente de estar ou não a exagerar, não quero arriscar e por isso tenho investido em bons casacos de inverno e até agora estou ótima! Nada de frio! Estou apaixonada por este em particular! É a coisa mais quente, confortável e maravilhosa que se pode vestir de manhã!

Festive Wishlist

This weekend will be the official kick off of the Christmas season! Next week will already start as December so we must all be super Festive (I’m writing this with the hugest, most excited smile ever on my face!). Baby, It's Cold Outside

Oh Lord I’ve been so busy! Like I always say “Too much to do, too little time!” and it’s so true! If only days could be 48 hours long! But today I’m a too happy and I couldn’t not come here too share that we’re officially one month away from Christmas Eve! Can’t even believe how fast this year is going but I’m so excited with all the Christmassy spirit in the streets! How about all of you, already starting the Christmas shopping?

Blue Blue Pink

I’ve been so drawn to dark monochromatic during the last week, probably because with cloudy days like these I really just don’t feel like wearing a whole palette of colors and patterns. But you know me and I could never go out looking like a black canvas, so details like a strong lip or some fuchsia gloves are enough to make the outfit much more fun and put together.

Esta semana estive viciada em looks monocromáticos, provavelmente por causa dos dias mais nublados quando a vontade de usar um arco-íris de cores e padrões é absolutamente nula. Mas quem me conhece sabe não conseguiria sair à rua vestida como uma tela preta, por isso detalhes como um batom colorido e umas luvas fuchsia são suficientes para dar um ar muito mais divertido e arranjado.

Just have to start this post by letting you all know I am SUPER Christmassy! Halloween is over and that means it is time to kick off the best season of all! I’m so excited I can’t even tell you! Ethnic

It’s getting colder and colder in Paris. I’m already getting to wear my warmer winter sweaters, which is actually a bit scary since it makes me wonder how cold it is actually going to be in winter. Well, one must wait to see! There’s a part of me that’s actually pretty excited to find out, specially the snow! I want snow!

Está a ficar cada vez mais frio em Paris. Já estou a começar a usar as minhas camisolas mais quentes, o que é assustador no sentido em que não sei como vai ser quando o inverno chegar mesmo. Bem, é esperar para ver! E há um parte de mim super entusiasmada, principalmente com a neve! Quero neve!

Last weekend the weather in Paris was purely divine. I had one of those perfect early fall sundays, when I woke up later then usual and went out for brunch with Miguel. The sun was shinning bright but it already smelled like the colder days. I took advantage of the amazing dress I was wearing and decided to shoot some pictures! Hope you like them! 

No fim de semana passado a temperatura em Paris esteve puramente divina. Tive um daqueles domingos de inicio de outono em que acordei mais tarde do que habitual e saí para tomar brunch com o Miguel. Pure Lights

I am back! Finally! I finally managed to get everything together, organized and perfect like I wanted and like I always love to do. I can’t believe how much of a spin my life has had but I am so happy and so excited. I worked so hard to get here and happily everything is falling into place. Perfect place! So what this means is I will be back to my normal posting schedule! After two months of on and off posts I finally will be able to upload regular content! Which makes me even more excited! I love you! YEYY!

Estou de volta! Finalmente! Finalmente consegui organizar tudo na perfeição como gosto sempre de fazer. Não consigo bem analisar a volta que a minha vida deu mas estou tão contente e entusiasmada. Trabalhei muito para chegar até aqui e felizmente tudo está a correr mesmo bem! O isto significa também é que vou voltar á minha rotina de posts! Depois de dois meses a postar pouquissimo, vou conseguir publicar com regularidade! O que me faz ainda mais entusiasmada! Adoro-vos! YEYY!

Dream on

2014 has been a full year, full of high ups and low downs, important decisions preceded by so many doubts. It’s not easy to grow up, specially when you want to make your life matter, when you want to live it and make it important. I learnt so much this year and grew up a lot, not because I wanted to, or planned it, but because I had to, to survive. I’m writing this and thinking that this should be posted by the end of the year as a summary of what had been left behind, but no. I think this is the right time to write it, because I’ve put so much effort and work into this blog and now I just haven’t been able to keep up, there has been too much going on. To all of you who have been sending me emails, regardless of the subject, thank you! Thank you for believing in me and for sharing your enthusiasm. 

I think I finally decided what I want to do. And that makes me that much happier! 

2014 tem sido um ano recheado, com altos muito altos e baixos muito baixos, decisões importantes antecedidas de muitas dúvidas. Não é fácil crescer, principalmente quando se quer viver uma vida que valha a pena ser vivida, que seja importante, pelo menos para alguém. Aprendi tanto este ano, não porque quisesse ou porque o planeasse mas porque tive que fazê-lo, para sobreviver. Estou a escrever isto e a pensar que devia ser publicado no fim do ano como uma espécie de sumário daquilo que deixei para trás, mas não. Este parece-me o momento certo, porque dediquei tanto tempo e trabalho ao blog e agora simplesmente não tenho conseguido manter, há demasiado a acontecer. A todos aqueles que me enviaram emails, independentemente do assunto, obrigada! Obrigada por acreditarem em mim e me mostrar o vosso entusiasmo.

Acho que finalmente decidi o que quero fazer, e isso faz-me tão mais feliz!

Red Roses

I’m having the hardest time switching over to fall clothing! Here in Paris it looks like everyone is already half way into winter, I mean there’s boots and burgundy and lots of black (probably due to the evil weather games occurring) but still, I’m just not ready yet! Today we had the most amazing summer day and I just hope we stay like that for a few more weeks and don’t go back to full on rainy days! Who’s with me?

This dress has to be one of my favorites! Besides the amazing material and cut, it’s in the most adorable baby blue color and it just fits like a glove. I may even consider getting it in more colors! I paired it with a head scarf and a bright red lipstick for an extra feminine touch!

I’ve been lusting over this skirt for the longest time and it finally arrived last week! Since then I’ve worn it twice already, which is definitely too much! It just brings the most positive, holiday-esque feeling! I think it’s perfect for a late afternoon drink with the girls!

Paris just got me in the mood for very feminine, delicate clothes. There’s just something very romantic about the city and it makes you want to match it, like you’re part of a movie. Well, specially for me, being as obsessed as I am with everything girly… This dress is perfect for that! Super delicate and girly but still very comfortable to wonder around the city!

Paris deixa-me com imensa vontade de usar roupas super femininas e delicadas. Há qualquer coisa muito romântica no ar da cidade e faz-nos querer combinar com o ambiente, como se fosse parte de um filme. Neon Summer

This has been an amazing summer! Probably one of the best! After the crazily bad year I had, I am finally having the deserved rest! Like the French say “Après l’effort, le réconfort!” and it truly was needed! 

I’m in love with this dress, it’s just insanely neon and perfect for summer days and nights! Hope you’re all having a perfect summer as well!

Summer Whites

I always loved white dresses in summer! I think everyone does! There’s just something very happy about tanned legs paired with a simple white dress and heels! I have been obsessed with this combo this summer! Specially when I get to join a statement necklace to the mix!

Sempre adorei vestidos brancos no verão! Acho que todas adoramos! Há qualquer coisa muito feliz em combinar umas pernas bronzeadas com um vestido branco e uns saltos altos! Tenho andado obcecada com esta combinação, principalmente quando consigo juntar um colar colorido ao mix!

Beige Flair

I can’t really express how happy I feel that I am back! These past four months have been hell and like you probably noticed I didn’t have any time to blog and even if I did I never wanted to share any negativity here. The Sparkling Lemon has been one of my happy places for the longest time and I have to, most of all, thank you for always standing by me! None of you has been negative towards me during this fase and you have no idea of how much that means to me.

I have been dedicating my time to something that I am not so passionate about but that I have committed to finish and giving up was never my style. I really, truly have written and erase this text way too many times because I never wanted to get too personal here on the blog, but this time I felt like I owed you an explanation and also I needed to write this myself to close this chapter and be back to my old, happy self. I am now free from all of that and I am 100% committed to the blog, my relationship and myself and that makes me as happy as summer sun!

Also, and like you probably noticed I did cut my hair! It was very damaged and I needed a big change. Hope you like it! I LOVE you! :)

Nem dá para expressar o quão feliz fico de estar de volta! Estes quatro meses foram um inferno e como muito provavelmente repararam não tive tempo para o blog e mesmo que tivesse não queria de todo partilhar negatividade aqui. O The Sparkling Lemon tem sido um dos meus espaços de felicidade e adoro vir aqui buscar energia positiva, tenho mesmo que agradecer-vos por me apoiarem sempre! Ninguém aqui foi negativo comigo durante esta fase e não têm ideia do quão importante isso foi e é para mim.

Tenho dedicado o meu tempo a algo que não gosto tanto mas que me comprometi a acabar e desistir não me deixaria tranquila. Escrevi e apaguei este texto demasiadas vezes porque nunca quis ser demasiado pessoal aqui no blog mas desta vez sinto que vos devia uma explicação e além disso precisava de escrever isto para fechar o capítulo e voltar a ser eu mesma. Estou livre da negatividade (pelo menos por enquanto) e vou dedicar-me a 100% ao blog, á minha relação e a mim e isso faz-me mesmo feliz!

Além de tudo isto e como provavelmente já repararam, cortei o cabelo! Estava super estragado e eu precisava de uma mudança. Espero que gostem e ADORO-VOS! Mesmo!

I’m so excited about how hot it’s been getting! Finally starting to feel like summer is coming and I just can’t wait! I’ve been having so much to do and the thought of having time for myself and the blog is just out of this world amazing! We’re officially 4 days away from summer and 2 weeks until I’m on vacations! Let the countdown begin!

Blue Paradise

Can’t even believe I’m finally writing a new post! God, I missed this! It’s so hard to justify why it’s been so long since I last posted, because there are just so many reasons and honestly it makes me sad and this blog is not about that, I won’t even allow myself to write a line of sadness here because it just wouldn’t make sense with the blog’s context or my own context to be honest!

So we’ll skip that to let you know that while I was gone I have been doing a lot of thinking and I do have some new projects coming up this summer! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Não acredito que estou finalmente a escrever um post novo! Tive tantas saudades! É tão complicado explicar o porquê de estar tanto tempo sem postar, porque são demasiados motivos e deixam-me triste e este blog não é de todo sobre isso, por isso nem me vou permitir escrever uma linha de tristeza aqui, que ia destoar com o contexto do blog e com o meu próprio contexto para ser sincera!

Tropical Jungle

One thing about spring is that it has been making me want to wear vibrant, exciting colors! It’s no surprise that my closet now looks like part of a Nicki Minaj video (as for colors not for style, of course!). This tropical pattern dress has been one of my latest additions and it’s been making me so happy! Totally makes me feel like I’m on a vacation!

Uma das características desta Primavera é que me tem feito ter imensa vontade de vestir cores fortes e vibrantes! Ever since I graduated, I was never very fond of jeans! I always felt like skirts or dresses were much more feminine and because I never really cared about being super comfortable (I’d rather look my absolute best), I felt like jeans didn’t really fit my personality and so I saved them just for those times when I needed to feel absolutely comfy, like for weekends in the countryside with friends.

But this year, I’ve been having so much work and so many errands to do that I really have been using my favorite pair of jeans a little too much and I must admit I’m loving it, specially when paired with some statement slippers and jewelry for a more classic, timeless look.

Desde o fim do secundário deixei de ser muito amiga de calças de ganga! Sempre vi os vestidos e as saias como peças muito mais femininas e como nunca me importei muito com estar confortável (preferia estar no meu melhor), sentia que as calças de ganga não combinavam muito com a minha personalidade e guardava-as para situações em que tinha mesmo de ser, como os fins-de-semana no campo com amigos.

Mas este ano, tenho tido tanto para fazer que tenho usado o meu par favorito em absoluto exagero e tenho que admitir que ando a adorar, especialmente quando combinado com slippers e acessórios divertidos para um estilo clássico e intemporal.

Purple circle

I told you there would be more, and here it is! My newest full skirt! Love this one and I think it will look amazing with some bright colors for spring/summer, specially light pinks and lilac tones!

After editing the post I actually feel like this look is a little too dark, but I am still struggling (a bit) with letting go of all the dark colors I was wearing during winter, just for the simple fact that I need to attend the beach to realize it is super hot and summery already! Anyone needs a vacation as much as I do?

Eu disse que ia haver mais, e aqui está! A minha mais recente saia rodada! Adoro esta cor e vai ficar giríssima com cores mais claras para a primavera/verão, principalmente com tons de rosa e lilás!

Depois de editar o post é que percebi que o conjunto está super escuro, mas ainda ando em luta para deixar os tons mais invernais, pelo simples facto de que preciso de ir para a praia para perceber que, na verdade, já está super quente e veranil! Mais alguém a precisar de férias?

They were all yellow

First I must apologize for how very pale I look in this yellow dress! But despite the amazing sun we’ve been having the last days, I still haven’t been anywhere near the beach because of all the work I must get done! Anyway, I can guarantee you’ll be seeing it on my tanned self, just because I’m so in love with this dress, it just gets me in that summer mood!

Primeiro tenho que pedir desculpa pelo quão branca fico neste vestido amarelo! Mas apesar do sol maravilhoso que tem estado, ainda nem me aproximei da praia! Tenho tanto para fazer! De qualquer forma, posso garantir que vão ver o vestido quando eu estiver super bronzeada, porque estou absolutamente apaixonada por ele, fico mesmo em modo verão!

Blue Craze

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks! Between Easter and all the work I had to get done I really, really feel like I ran 10 marathons and I am so tired! I think it’s only gonna get worse, at least until summer! But I’m really positive and motivated to get all of this done :) I’m so excited that I finally managed to post again, this blog really brings a hand full of positive energy to my life and it makes me so happy! Thank you :)

Foram duas semanas de loucos! Entre a Páscoa e todo o trabalho que tinha para entregar sinto mesmo que corri 10 maratonas, e estou tão cansada! Acho que daqui para a frente só vai piorar, pelo menos até ao Verão! Mas estou mesmo motivada para concluir tudo aquilo a que me propus :) Estou tão contente por finalmente ter conseguido postar, o blog trás mesmo uma mão cheia de energia positiva para a minha vida! Darkest Green

Yes, I did it. I got a new full skirt, and another one and I will honestly get as many as I can because I am OBCESSED with them! Last weekend one of my closest friends turned 25 and she hosted a get together afternoon plus dinner party at her place to celebrate it! It was super sunny and warm and I wore my new Sheinside dress that I’m currently loving! Hoping this weekend will be sunny too, since I’m feeling so much better now and I just want to get some sun on my skin!

No fim de semana passado, uma das minhas melhores amigas fez 25 anos e organizou uma  tarde de convívio seguida de um jantar de amigos para celebrar! Estava imenso sol e já bem quentinho, por isso usei o meu novo vestido da Sheinside! Só espero que este fim-de-semana esteja calor de novo, porque finalmente livrei-me da minha constipação e agora só quero sol!
